Step 04 · Morning Protection

Environmental Shield Day Cream.

Weightless the moment it is on. Working every hour after that.

Not yet available to purchase.

Two effects, one application

One cream. Two effects.

Every Zero Lines formulation is written to work on two timescales at once — one you can see the same morning, one that only makes sense in weeks. This is the one that decides how much of your day your skin has to absorb.

From the first application

Immediately

Skin feels comfortable and looks even the moment the cream is on.

Within two or three minutes it stops being a layer and becomes a surface: smooth, matte-soft, the kind of base foundation sits down on rather than slides over. Sun protection spreads across it without pilling. You are not waiting for this effect — it is there before you leave the house, on the first morning you ever use it.

With consistent daily use

Over time

A standing daily barrier between your skin and the air it moves through.

Traffic particulates, dry office heat, the oxidative load of a bright afternoon. Worn every morning, the film becomes a habit rather than an event — and beneath it the Pyrenean minerals sit as cofactors for the skin’s own antioxidant enzymes, the trace elements those enzymes require in order to function. No single morning is dramatic. The value is entirely in the repetition.

Two products in one — and only one of them asks anything of you.

01 The Formulation

A protective layer, not a rich cream.

Environmental Shield is written for the hours between leaving the house and coming home: particulate pollution, the oxidative load of bright light, and the quiet dehydration of air conditioning and central heating. It is a protective formulation that happens to moisturise, rather than a moisturiser with a claim attached.

Sweet almond oil and shea butter carry red algae and cucumber extracts over a Pyrenean mineral complex of zinc, selenium and copper. The texture is deliberately light: it settles into a breathable film across the surface instead of sitting on top of it, which is why it disappears under sun protection rather than arguing with it.

Beneath that film the minerals work at skin level. Zinc, selenium and copper are cofactors for antioxidant enzymes the skin already has — the enzymes exist regardless; the minerals are what let them run.

trace minerals held in ionic balance — zinc, selenium, copper — drawn from thermal springs high in the Pyrenees.

This is not a sunscreen

Environmental Shield Day Cream carries no SPF rating and is not a substitute for sun protection. Apply a broad-spectrum SPF once the cream has set. External use only. Avoid the eye area, and discontinue use if irritation occurs.

02 What Is In It

Four things that matter.

Not the full list — the four that decide what this cream is. Each is here for one reason, and the reason is written next to it.

  1. 01

    Pyrenean mineral complex

Zinc, selenium and copper in ionic balance — the cofactors the skin’s own antioxidant enzymes need in order to function.

  2. 02

    Red algae extract

A marine polysaccharide that holds water at the surface and keeps the film flexible rather than tight as the day goes on.

  3. 03

    Cucumber extract

Calming and cooling. It takes the edge off skin that has met wind, bright sun or eight hours of conditioned air.

  4. 04

Sweet almond oil & shea butter

The carriers. Enough lipid to keep the barrier comfortable, little enough that the finish stays matte-soft instead of glossy.

Why the water matters: altitude, ionic balance and the springs.

03 How To Use It

Four movements, every morning.

A protocol only works if it survives contact with an ordinary Tuesday. This is the shortest honest version — under two minutes, and the last thing you do before the day starts.

  1. Step one

    Warm

A pea-sized amount, after the serum. Warm it between the fingertips until it turns fluid.

  2. Step two

    Press

Press it into face and neck, outward and upward. Press — do not drag the skin downward.

  3. Step three

    Wait

Two to three minutes. This is when it stops being a layer and becomes a base.

  4. Step four

    Protect

Broad-spectrum sun protection over the set cream. Make-up after that, if you wear it.

In very dry, very cold or heavily polluted conditions, a light reapplication at midday is sensible. In an ordinary week, once is enough.

The Texture

Weightless silk. Boundless protection.

It melts at fingertip warmth and settles as a veil — thin enough to vanish beneath sun protection, present enough to hold the morning’s work in place until you take it off.

The science beneath it
04 In The Protocol

Step 4 of 6.

The protocol is an order, not an assortment. The serum carries the treatment; the day cream protects it and holds it in place. Nothing follows it but sun protection — and, twelve hours later, the night cream.

The Skin Analysis

How much shielding does your skin want?

Climate, pollution and daylight land differently on every face. Ten questions and one photograph, and the analyser returns a written assessment across eight markers — with the morning half of a protocol written for your own conditions.

05 Questions

Asked and answered.

Does it contain SPF?

No. Environmental Shield Day Cream carries no SPF rating and is not a substitute for sunscreen. It is designed to work alongside sun protection, not instead of it. Apply a broad-spectrum SPF once the cream has set — two to three minutes after application.

What will I notice on the first morning?

Skin should feel comfortable and look more even the moment the cream is on, and within two to three minutes it settles to a smooth base that make-up sits well over. That is the immediate effect, and it is there from the first application. The environmental barrier is the other half — that one builds with daily use and is not something any single morning shows you.

Can I wear make-up over it?

Yes. Give it two to three minutes to set and it leaves a smooth, hydrated base. The texture is written to be light enough that foundation and sun protection spread over it rather than lifting it.

Is it heavy? Will it suit oily skin?

It is formulated as a lightweight cream that absorbs quickly and leaves no residue, and it is written for all skin types including oily and combination skin. It supports hydration without adding shine.

What makes the Pyrenean minerals different?

The mineral water is drawn from thermal springs high in the Andorran Pyrenees. At altitude, water dissolves the rock it passes through differently, arriving with zinc, selenium, copper and magnesium held in ionic balance — the cofactors the skin’s own antioxidant enzymes require in order to function.

Can I use it without the serum?

You can, but the Longevity Protocol is designed as a sequence. The BioSignal Facial Serum carries the treatment; the day cream protects it and holds it in place. Used together they do what neither does alone.
