Our Story

A conviction, not a brand.

Zero Lines did not begin in a marketing meeting. It began with a question the industry seemed unwilling to answer honestly — why does so much skincare change how skin looks, and so little of it change how skin works?

01 The Conviction

It began as a question,
not a product.

Four years before the house had a name there was a reading list — peer-reviewed work on penetration, stability and cellular signalling that did not agree with the advertising.

Most formulations are built to be liked on the first morning. They hydrate the surface, soften the light, and leave the architecture underneath exactly as they found it. That is less a moral failing than a commercial habit: appearance is easier to sell than function, and far easier to photograph.

We took the harder position. Skin already carries the complete instruction set for its own repair. What degrades with age is not the capability but the signalling — the conversation between cells that tells tissue when to rebuild. Restore the conversation and the skin does the work itself.

It is why we describe ourselves as a Skin Longevity House rather than a skincare line. A line is an assortment. A house holds a position — and ours is narrow enough to be tested: extend the health, structure and function of skin, and let appearance follow as a consequence rather than as the product.

We are not the repair. We are the instructions.

02 The Source

Where the water begins.

Every Zero Lines formulation starts with mineral water drawn from a protected valley in the Andorran Pyrenees, at just over 1,800 metres. No agriculture, no industry and no permanent settlement sits within five kilometres of the spring.

The water surfaces after roughly two decades underground, percolating through granite and limestone, arriving cold and carrying zinc, selenium, copper and magnesium in ionic balance. We collect it through gravity-fed channels rather than pumps, because pressure disturbs that balance — and the balance is the entire point.

Those minerals are not decoration. They are cofactors: the elements the skin’s own antioxidant enzymes require in order to function at all.

The Distinction
Zero Lines does not pursue younger-looking skin. It pursues structurally younger skin.

The distinction is everything.

03 Our Line in the Sand

What we refuse to do.

A house is defined as much by its refusals as by its formulations. These six are not positioning. They are the constraints the protocol was built inside, and each one has cost us time, copy, or both.

  1. 01

We do not claim to erase time.

Nothing applied to the surface undoes a lifetime. We work on the rate of change, not on the calendar, and we would rather say so plainly than sell the fantasy sitting behind the word “reversal”.

  2. 02

We do not publish a number we cannot stand behind.

No headline percentages, no panel statistics, no “proven” until a completed study exists with a reference you can read for yourself. Until then we describe mechanism and intent — what a formulation is designed to support, and why.

  3. 03

    We do not invent people.

No purchased reviews, no composite customers, no testimonials for a protocol nobody has yet completed. That wall stays empty until the accounts on it are real, attributable and freely given.

  4. 04

We do not formulate for the first morning.

Anything that flatters skin tonight and does nothing for it in a year is a cosmetic trick. Signalling work is slower to show and structural when it does, and we accept the harder sell that comes with it.

  5. 05

We do not add what does not work.

No fragrance for the sake of fragrance, no colour that fails to contribute to stability, no filler to give a jar weight in the hand. Every ingredient earns its line on the label or it leaves the formula.

  6. 06

We do not launch to a calendar.

Four years, hundreds of prototypes, and a spring chosen for consistency over reputation. The protocol becomes available when it is right rather than when the season is convenient — which is why it is still not for sale.

04 The Journey
Aerial view of the Pyrenean foothills descending towards the Mediterranean coast

From the mountain to the sea.

Within six hours of collection the water is in insulated tankers at 4°C, and inside two days it is in Barcelona. Warm water sheds dissolved gases and drops its minerals out of solution; keep it cold and the profile that made it worth collecting survives the journey intact.

Made in Barcelona

Engineered in Catalonia.

Barcelona was not chosen for the view. The city has made pharmaceuticals and cosmetics since the nineteenth century, its port opens onto the Mediterranean, and its manufacturers answer to both Spanish and EU cosmetic law — among the strictest ingredient regimes anywhere.

Our laboratory occupies a converted textile warehouse in Poblenou: an industrial past put to scientific use. Each formulation passed through dozens of iterations there before it was allowed into the protocol, and every batch is traceable from raw material to finished bottle.

Inside the laboratory
05 The Principles

Six positions we hold.

01

Mechanism over marketing

If we cannot explain how a formulation works to a chemist, we do not sell the sentence to you.

02

Sequence over assortment

Six formulations designed as an order. Each prepares the skin for the one that follows; used out of sequence, a system is only a shelf.

03

Function over story

The spring we chose was neither the highest nor the best known. It was the most consistent — and that decision set the tone for everything after it.

04

Evidence over adjectives

Peer-reviewed literature, laboratory work and our own stability data. Where the evidence stops, the copy stops with it.

05

Patience over instant

Structural change moves at the speed of tissue, not the speed of a campaign. We would rather under-promise for a decade than overstate once.

06

Transparency over mystique

We name what is in each formulation and what it is doing, and we give a straight answer about what is not yet settled. Full INCI lists go up when the formulations do. Mystery is a marketing device, not a formulation.

The Position

This is Zero Lines. Not anti-ageing. Skin intelligence.

We do not believe in erasing time. We believe in extending skin health, structure and function — and in saying only what we can defend.
